This book is a profound and moving story that tackles complex moral issues relevant to the real world. I happen to be a woman who likes these kinds of stories anyway, but even if I weren't.... The character and story development happen at a good pace and the deepness and complexity of the characters can be felt from early on. There are so many issues and themes in this book that resonated on a deeper level. Don't pass it up just because you don't care for fantasy, this is a true work of art.
