When the world crumbles, a broken man finds hope where he least expects it in the grit and quiet strength of a small Montana town.

Cole Ramsey thought he’d left rural life behind for good. He poured his soul into big tech solutions for a cutting-edge smart city, only to be cast out as a scapegoat amidst corruption and scandal. He's blacklisted and adrift when a letter about his grandfather’s death pulls him back to the family ranch he had long abandoned.

What he finds in Bridger’s Pass isn’t a simple homestead in disrepair. It’s a community clinging to old ways. Neighbors who share canned goods instead of complaints, a pastor who prays like it matters, and a stubborn veterinarian named Emily Grayson, whose gentle hands and fierce dedication to every creature remind him what real service looks like.

As Cole rebuilds the ranch, he uncovers his grandfather’s hidden bunker stocked with seeds, solar plans, and a lifetime of preparedness. But it’s not just the past haunting him. Rumors of cyberattacks and collapsing cities ripple into town, the failure of the very same high tech grid that Cole helped engineer.

There's no time for wallowing in guilt. When armed federal agents arrive to seize supplies under emergency orders, Cole faces a choice. Flee again, or stand with the folks who’ve become his unlikely family.

As the town gathers together to protect their own, Cole learns that survival isn’t about outrunning the world’s chaos but about rooting yourself in something deeper.

Perfect for fans of heartfelt disaster survival stories about the strength of found family and the land beneath your feet. With a tinge of inspirational romance.

This was an interesting book from a different angle than many survival books. This book was about a small town and how they worked together to survive.

Virtual voice per usual, bland, distracting from a story that had possibilities. When will authors understand their stories are ruined by the lousy pronunciation, lack of understanding of context, awkward phrasing, etc.

Ok story

AI reader is an Ethnic black voice, which really doesn’t go with a Montana Prepper novel. Didn’t pass the time on a long drive.

Good content but dull presentation.

It opened my eyes, that if our government gets desperate enough, they might steal from we who have prepared, justifying their theft that people in the cities are needy because they didn't prepare.

How the government may commandeer our stuff, ignoring the U.S. Constitution.

The community the novel depicted was a warm and feel good spirit. How people banded together in a familial and forgiving manner.

The plot around “preppers” & faith.
