The fourth book in the series that began with the Newbery Medal–winning Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan.
I am a watcher. I am a listener, too. I am invisible. I can make myself so small and quiet and hidden that sometimes no one knows I am there to watch and listen.
Cassie spends her days watching Grandfather and Caleb in the barn, looking out at Papa working the fields, spying on her mother, Sarah, feeding the goslings. She's an observer, a writer, a storyteller. Everything is as it should be.
But change is inevitable, even on the prairie. Something new is expected, and Sarah says it will be the perfect gift. Cassie isn't so sure. But just as life changes, people change too. And Cassie learns that unexpected surprises can bring great joy.

Where does More Perfect than the Moon rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I've listened to several books over the past few years. This one, though read by Glenn Close, whom I greatly admire as an actress, is not one of my favorites. I found her voice as Cassie a bit annoying.Any additional comments?
Overall, the reading of this book is a little tooContinues the Sarah, Plain and Tall series

The story of the Witting family’s prairie life as chronicled by each child in turn is my favorite thing about the series. The mantle has now passed to Cassie to write her stories. Cassie, however, laments that she has nothing exciting to write about, so she embellishes her tales with a bit of fiction. MacLachlan writes an outstanding story of a young girl finding the world outside herself.
I can’t imagine any other voice for the narration. Glenn Close delivers a perfect performance.
Highly recommended.
