Charm is the key to the world. Charisma, magnetism, sex appeal - that "it" factor that can't be described. Nolan Delaney has it is spades. The infamous Mr. Romantic. And maybe he is out of my league, but I'm going to give it the old college try anyway. Because I didn't travel 2,000 miles for a job interview at his request just to be put out like trash. Don't underestimate me, Mr. Delaney. I'm really not as innocent as I look.

Oh my gosh, #2 in the Mister series is sooo much better than #1. The mystery, intrigue and depth that JA Huss is know for is present, in this book. As with most of her characters, Mr. Romantic is emotionally scarred and he doesn't deal with this in a healthy way. Most of the plot is not predictable but there is enough predictability to let the reader/listener stay somewhat comfortable. This book does discuss "rape fantasy " or what some call "ravishment", so if this sort of thing really bothers you, this book isn't for you. This installment, of the series, also starts to unravel the shared past of the Misters with regards to their arrests 10 years ago. This book has twists and turns and keeps you guessing, it is definitely worth the credit.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Erin Mallon and Tad Branson ?

Erin is a talented VO artist - I enjoy her voice a lot ehhh --- but somebody needs to go in ehhh and edit out the breaths ehhh at the end of every. ehh. single. ehh. phrase. ehh. -- the constant breathe-ins don't go with the script, are completely distracting and beyond ANNOYING ehh -- honestly it's so prevalent ehh - it becomes entirely grating. ehh. so I stopped listening and ordered the ebook. gah! ehhh. sorry to have wasted an audible credit, definitely will make a point to listen to the previews for this type of ehh thing in future. ehh.

Read this one instead of listening

Loved it, the plot is not straight forward it leads a mystery trail. This book is very good on it's own but with the entire series it's fabulous. I started reading the books but not necessarily in order. I believe I have all of them now and am starting at the beginning and rereading them. Every time I see new depth in the story.

I am so excited for every new book by JA Huss. Thank you for sharing your talent.

As usual this story is twisty

The first book of this series, Mr. Perfect was enjoyable. I liked the characters, the story-line, etc. This book, Mr. Romantic was disturbing to me for these reasons. As Huss points out after the book ends. It's disturbing how we as a society can condemn someone without proof of guilt. Coincidentally, I listened to this book right after the Judge Kavanaugh hearing. This made everything about the story more disturbing to me.
The character Ivie went from total virgin to role playing violent sex a tad bit too easily. Although this part of the book kept me at the edge of my seat. The scene itself was disturbing.
I found it hard to follow from time to time as it jumps from past to present. Also using characters real names and then their Mr. names. Trying to keep track of who was who jumbled things up a bit for me. I will be listening to this a second or third time.
I had honestly thought about returning this book even before I got to the end. Then I listened to Huss's narrative. How she found this to also be disturbing. Her reason for wanting to write a series based on this subject. This helped me to decide to continue to the end of the Mister series.
The narrators for this book did a wonderful job conveying the emotion of the characters.
