Eric was skeptical of the white man who entered his store. His antennas instantly shot up; his brain screamed cop!

Rachel, standing close by, shared the same sentiment. She watched the man like a hawk, wondering what he wanted from the business place.

The man approached the counter and asked for some weed.

Eric and Rachel exchanged wary glances, their looks indicating they were right after all. He was surely a cop.

Eric’s worker behind the counter looked his way, his gaze questioning whether he should serve the man. The man caught the exchange and quickly indicated that he was not a cop, that he was just looking for some good smoke.

Rachel, though hesitant, decided to give the man a try. She gestured for the worker to serve him.

Grateful, the man approached Rachel after his purchase, and they sparked up a conversation. He introduced himself as Charlie and said he was in town on business, looking for someone to help further his empire—the marijuana trade, which he had sown down in Arizona.

Rachel shot Eric a look, noticing he still wore a wary expression. She understood how he felt, but this could be the opportunity they’d been seeking for some time now, and she wasn’t going to let it pass by.

She exchanged information with Charlie, and they made plans to speak again soon about business…
