Ever since she gave up being a Long Island housewife and turned into a 60+ adventurer, Mabel has been on the go. From Florida to the Rockies and all the stops along the way, she has stumbled over more bodies than she ever imagined. Soon she'll have to count them on her toes. Although she got into the business because of an unexpected ghostly pal, she can't complain that her life's not interesting.
It all started when she purchased a vintage camper and started towing it across the country. From one of those strange twists in the universe, she soon discovered that she had a spirited spirit - a ghost of sorts - riding shotgun. Irma, a showgirl from the heydays of Las Vegas, is tagging along for more than the ride. She needs help doing good deeds to earn her wings and get through the Pearly Gates. Seems solving murders merits bonus points. So, in the spirit of spirits, Irma has roped Mabel into doing the groundwork.
Mabel's five kids had been worried about their mother eating gallon cartons of rocky road to get over their father's midlife crisis - a gold-digging bimbo with big boobs - they weren't happy about her picking up and moving to Florida. They thought she would be lonely. They didn't have to worry. With Irma and her ghostly pals, Mabel has had no quiet time.
