Jessica is invited to join other crime writers at an interactive murder mystery weekend in an historic mansion turned resort. A theatrical troupe presents a play for the paying guests, but a young actor's death during the actual performance isn't part of the script. The local sheriff has never investigated a murder before and enlists Jessica's help and expertise. As she begins to put the pieces together in her folksy fashion, Jessica recognizes that this could well be her last performance if she doesn't uncover the killer soon.

I enjoyed listening to this story because it gave me such fond memories of watching Murder She Wrote with my grandma when I was younger. The story was fun too, real life murder mystery, but of course I had to laugh at the old timey was of investigating. No forensics! Haha. Cute and fun.

Cute and good memories

I thought this would be really light 'fluff' listening. Yes, it is light but engaging and entertaining. Well narrated.
Pleasantly surprised and now I'm pursuing more in the series.

Surprisingly good

Why, oh why, when penning a selection destined to be read directly into purchasers ears, would an author give a character a glug-glug vocal tic?? Cruelty- to the listener, and to the poor narrator as well. Cynthia Darlow handled it as well as anyone could have, but, honestly!
Otherwise, fond viewers of the MSW series should enjoy this story It was nice to spend some time in the wholesome presence of Ms Fletcher once again

Have mercy on listeners!

What did you like best about Murder, She Wrote: A Question of Murder? What did you like least?

The end. Not the answer to the murder, but in that same old way a Detective allows Jessica to take over the investigation with full faith, and not even asking any questions. You go girl. Yikes.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

At the conclusion, let the cop be a cop, and not a wimp.

Did Cynthia Darlow do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes she did a fine job, with a little more exaggerated eastern accent.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

If they change how the cop interacts with Jessica at the end.

Any additional comments?

I know all murder mysteries are a bit unreal. I get that. But make it more believable at the conclusion of the book. No detective would ever let an old lady (like me) run the show when you are capturing the murderer. Hello?

Typical TV-like production with a good plot twist
