Every woman would kill for one...

Manhattan fashionista Kelly Quinn thought she'd left her upstate New York town far behind...until the Seventh Avenue expat returns home to revamp her grandmother's consignment shop into an upscale boutique - and unwittingly sets a trend for murder....

After her rising career as a Manhattan buyer is derailed, Kelly has mixed feelings about relocating back to Lucky Cove, in spite of her big plans for the soon-to-be-renamed Curated by Kelly Resale Boutique. What's left of her luck starts running out when a customer puts on a black lace dress that triggers visions of someone being murdered. As if the haunted “Murder Dress” isn't enough to kill business, the psychic's doppelganger cousin has just been found bludgeoned to death.

Was Maxine LeMoyne the real target or was it a case of mistaken murder? With some creepy pre-Halloween bargain hunters walking the night and Kelly suddenly a person of interest, a second murder rocks the close-knit town. Now Kelly could be the one who ends up talking to dead people when she's stalked by a killer determined to take her out in high style....

Kelly Quinn inherited her grandmother's consignment shop in her hometown of Lucky Cove, NY. She always dreamed of owning her own upscale boutique in Manhattan, but this is the next best thing. While having a sale to get rid of older merchandise at the shop, a local psychic tries on a little black dress and has a vision of a man being murdered. Suddenly everyone in town is talking about the haunted dress and business has dwindled down to nothing. Kelly decides to use her sleuthing skills to see if the psychic's gift is real and there was a murder attached to the dress.

This cozy mystery started off well, but lost steam. I found the heroine annoying, especially when she decided that harboring a fugitive from the police was a good idea. She made a few too many dumb moves for me. As far as the mystery, I thought I had it figured out but it turned out I was wrong. The identity of the villain was a surprise. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

I really liked the book and can't wait for the next one in the series to come out. I love to read and a lot of times in these types of books I figure out who did it rather early on this one had me in suspense until the end and I would of never guessed the culprit.

it as a bit of the paranormal in it with psychics, and it keeps you guessing throughout the book whether they are the real deal or a phoney. really enjoyed it!!

great book

Not a bad listen or story but some of the plot lines and additions just didn’t make sense with no backstory or prior mentions.

Easy listen, Plot Issues

The mystery was interesting. The narrator was good and the voices were clear and distinct. the issue for me was this main character let people talk to her crazy and blame her for things that were categorically not her fault.
Her family memebers are terrible to her and at no point did she stand up for herself or defend herself, it was infuriating and anxiety inducing. She was so spineless it kinda made no sense she was so pushy with strangers nosing around but had nothing to say to the people talking trash to her face? urghhhh. Don't think I could make it through another one.
