Chilling thriller!

Starta has done it again with this great story. He fills his plots with clues that will keep the reader guessing. I like how it has many layers, not just to the mystery, but the characters as well. Carter and Seacrest are in the middle of a case involving politics and serial murders. It's an interesting prequel in the Stanford Carter series, and it tells a good story about the beginnings of Carter and Seacrest.

A lot going on

Story really seemed unfocused to me, and really messy at the start. It all wrapped up nicely but the entire thing was super cheesy.

This was a good book.It was full of odd surprises and unbelievable saves.Ken Parelman was a very good narrator. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.' 

Hell of a ride in this prequel

Even though there are a massive number of moving parts, the story and narrator stay grounded and provide an interesting ride through this early Stanford Carter adventure. Strap in for intrigue, murder, mystery and more.
