How to Produce a Full Song from Scratch—Without Fancy Gear, Music Theory, or Overwhelm (Even If You've Never Made a Beat Before)

Ready to make music but don’t know where to start?

This book doesn’t just tell you what to do—it builds a full song with you, step-by-step, from a blank screen to a finished track. You’ll follow along in real time with screenshots, chapter-based videos, and beginner-friendly instructions that work with any setup.

No fluff. No jargon. Just real music production made easy.

Whether you’re a total beginner, a frustrated YouTube learner, or an artist ready to take control of your sound—this guide shows you how to produce music fast, using free tools and a basic setup.

Inside you will learn:

  • How to turn loops, vocals, or chords into full songs—even if you’ve never produced before
  • The easiest way to build beats, layer melodies, and program drums with feeling
  • How to shape your sound with EQ, reverb, and mixing—using only stock plugins
  • The “Reference Track” trick to skip guesswork and model your favorite songs
  • How to remix, sample, or create mashups from vocals and beats
  • A simple method to structure your music like a pro—intro, build, drop, chorus, outro
  • What to do when it’s done: how to release, promote, and grow your audience

All of this and much much more..

Unlike other guides, this book was built in the studio—not in theory.

You’ll follow the exact workflow I use in real time. Every chapter builds directly on the last—so by the time you reach the end, you’re not just learning… you’ve finished your first song.

And you’ll get access to free bonus videos, walkthroughs, and tools to follow along at your own pace.

So if you're ready to stop watching and start creating…listen to this audiobook and start making music today.

Not many books on music production like this one are available, and I'm happy I found it.

The content is amazing, covering the basics you need to start expressing yourself, from building your PC to meet the requirements of sound, to a clear explanation of composing chords in MIDI, looping, sketching, and further improving your mixing so it doesn’t sound like a demo and beyond. Special mention to the chapter about producing drums, a delight!

The extra content is massive, with step-by-step videos that guide you by the hand, and even better, a full downloadable version of the print edition is included, a wonderful gesture for those of us who like to have both versions, like me.

As a musician, I found this audiobook surprisingly refreshing. It’s not trying to show off with flashy terminology or overcomplicated techniques—it’s just solid, practical instruction for actually making music. What I really liked was how it walked me through a full track from start to finish. You don’t need a crazy studio setup or deep theory knowledge—it’s accessible, even with basic gear and free tools. The chapters flow naturally, and the structure keeps you engaged the whole way. I’ve been stuck in the idea phase for too long, but this book honestly pushed me to record. The tips on song structure, mixing, and using reference tracks are gold. Whether you're just starting or finally ready to create, this is a great place to begin.
