As the author and illustrator of My Blended Family, this story is especially meaningful to me. I wanted to create a children’s book that helps kids understand that families can come together in many different ways.

Through Laura’s story, young readers see how step-siblings and blended families can grow with love, patience, and kindness. The message is simple but important: what makes a family special isn’t how it begins, but the love that grows within it.

My hope is that this book helps children feel proud of their family and reminds them that every family — traditional or blended — is something beautiful.
