Belgrieve's return to Turnera has been marked by many brushes with larger-than-life figures, including a legendary adventurer, an elven princess, and a mysterious foundling with mystical powers. In the midst of all of this, Belgrieve is forced to confront unresolved old feelings about his past that have smoldered within him since his adventuring days came to an end so long ago.

Meanwhile, after resuming her adventuring life in the big city, Angeline has done her father the dubious service of seeking out prospective brides for him (to no avail). But her planned return to her home town (with new friends in tow) is thwarted by a surprise summons from the archduke seeking to unify the region. The sudden imposition naturally enrages her, but what awaits her is a fated encounter!

The only problem is the narrator. I'm mostly reviewing the choice of voice readers here. I really wish they had gone for a female voice reader for the female parts. The masculine nasally whine every woman takes on breaks from immersion.

Also, while the voice reader is generally good for the male roles there are times I had to rewind and still had to check the Kindle written version to verify what he was saying. In those instances I was wondering if he was talking with a mouth full of marbles, or maybe he was sneaking a sandwich between takes and hadn't cleared it out before resuming the recording. If audible has a sound tech, please sharpen the voice on these!

The story is great if you like slice of life miod fantasy with heavy family overtones.

This is a comment about the stupid chapter titles. Sorry, I had to say that. Anyway, this was another great installment of the story. I think the story is finally starting to gain momentum, although still very slow moving of course. I look forward to the next book.

Really confused by that prison start. Guess we can only wait and see what happens next. Angie is excited to bring more family members home, only to find out the family is already big in her absence.

The storyline is progressing.

I enjoyed the warm interactions with a dash of adventure and a clear path to future obstacles to overcome. The pleasantness continues with the bad turns being cushioned with plenty of good twists leaving you with more happy resolutions.

The adventure continues with a growing cast
