Pippa has suffered in silence for 20 years with sadness and bad habits. She is insecure about her relationship, loathes her job, and wishes for contentment. Then a strange visit from Sadie, her half-sister's half-sister, changes everything.

Sadie is descended from the Salford Sioux and has an appetite for mischief. She is beautiful, confident, and is everything Pippa wants to be. Sadie becomes the supporter that Pippa never had, but things don't add up; Pippa is the only person to have seen her. Sadie persuades Pippa that her sister Heather is a witch and then announces she wants something in return for her attention. Pippa agrees to follow Sadie's instructions but wakes up in an unexpected place with no knowledge of what she has done.
