Anthony "Pops" Mitchell has always lived a life of music. He developed his love for music at an early age, teaching himself how to play the organ, singing on corners in New York with friends, and using his vocals as a lead singer and in the background. He writes, produces, and arranges music. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, with ties to Chicago and New York, Anthony is affectionately known to those who love him as "Pops" or "Papa Tony." As a producer, songwriter, organist, arranger, lead, and backup singer, music is his ministry. He has been blessed to work with Dionne Warwick, The O'Jay's, Stevie Wonder, The Isley Brothers, and many other well-known artists.
Pops lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife, Bea, and attends Mount Ararat Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. William H. Curtis. At Mount Ararat Pops is the director and spiritual leader for the Male Chorus. He released an album in 2012 entitled, "Lord, Because of My Faith in You." My Life and Walk with God is Pop's autobiography and first book.
