Amazing Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Emotional!

Claudia Burgoa blows me away with another amazing romance novel set in her “My One” series and I loved this one just as much as I loved the first book, “My One Regret”. This beautifully written story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end, it also tugged on my heartstrings too. I adored the two lead characters, well, until one pissed me off, but that character redeems themselves in the end. This book is Tess Hades and Gage Rodin’s story, Tess appears in the first book, she is Kaden’s daughter and it was great to see her again and how much she grew as a person, her biological mother used and abused her, psychologically. She is now following her dreams, studying marine wildlife, working on getting her PhD and then hoping to make a difference in the world. She was not planning on meeting anyone, never mind getting involved with him, but Gage Rodin was persistent and never gave up on her. Gage an aspiring musician who lost his band, is working several jobs, including teaching music, a barista and a bartender. When he first met Tess he was taken by her and he predicted she will be his one day but she had things to do first, like go away to college. He had not known who her father was and when he found out he did not want her to think he was interested in her for that reason, but she finds out his love for music and hooks him up with an audition for her father without his knowledge. Gage impressed Kaden with his talent and offered to mentor him, which helped push start his career in the music industry. He and Tess continued their friendship until it finally morphed into more and they had their life all planned out, that was until it all changed, Gage practically ghosted her and then broke her heart with no explanation, which broke my heart too. It took Tess almost six years to learn Gage’s reason for what he did, but is that reason enough for her to forgive him for what he did? Claudia Burgoa is evil, she had me thinking the worst of Gage but turns out he thought he was doing the right thing just went about it the wrong way, though it was probably the only way. This wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, a heartbreaking twist and a slow burn romance. I loved how everything turned out for Gage and Tess, despite their separation, their love never died and neither moved on. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Emma Wilder played Tess’ role with perfection, captured her every emotion and had you feeling every single one, Jason Clarke did the same for Gage and both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. These talented narrators and a versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Angsty and Bautiful

This one hurt in a good way, and the performers made me feel it so much more. The story by Claudia Burgoa had so much angst but she made Tess and Gage’s journey worth all the bumps and roadblocks that lay ahead of them. Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke brought the story to life and made me feel like I was there seeing their story unfold. Bravo!

Absolutely heartbreakingly beautiful!

Going into this book, I knew I would love it because the author and narrators are excellent. I was not prepared. Listening to them fall in love was just plain beautiful. When everything turns upside down I was bereft and their letters brought me to tears - that is not normal for me. Gauge and Tess are just plain perfection together and it makes sense in all the ways (except the big unknown chasm). Beautifully written with wonderful performances by Jason and Emma put this solidly on my new list of favorites. I will listen again and very highly recommend!

I love their Love story from start to finish and I enjoyed having other characters from Claudia’s other series pop in. That always makes me feel so connected to the story.
The only bad thing is I want more ♥️Brava👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great story and narration

Having read a number of books by Claudia Burgoa, I was excited to listen to My One Desire narrated by Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder who certainly did justice to this emotional roller coaster of a listen.
My One Desire ticked all the boxes for me as we are drawn into rock star Gage Rodin and Tess Hades love story told over a period of ten years. My emotion s were all over the place as the story progressed.
It is obvious that Gage and Tess are two halves of a whole but life has a way of interferring and after years together they are parted by circumstances beyond control. Both Jason and Emma did justice to the emotional turmoil that impacted the characters and my heart broke for the pain and suffering that they went through.
