Ronan Hendricks immediately realizes that the message his wife just received says a lot more than it seems. And it doesn’t take long for his entire family to become involved in helping both him and Grace figure out exactly what it means.

Logan Hendricks is always ready for Christmas. His grandsons might be grown but he still enjoys spending his Christmas Eve piling presents under the tree for all three of them and the rest of his growing family. By his count, he’s already baked enough cookies and other holiday goodies to feed a small army.

There was nothing new about that. When his grandsons were a lot younger, it sometimes seemed as if he was always feeding a small army.

But this Christmas, there is more to do than wrap presents and bake cookies and candy. Both of his new granddaughters were having a difficult time getting into the Christmas spirit. Like the rest of the family, he understood why this holiday season wasn’t going to be easy for both of them. He wasn’t at all certain whether this new wrinkle, however divine it might be or not, would make it any easier. If anything, it could very well make it even more difficult…especially for Grace.

It wasn’t just her first Christmas with his grandson…but also the first Christmas without her only sister.

Grace isn’t at all certain what to make of the clues she’s been given. She visits her childhood home and wanders through her father’s church and its library where he spent so much of his time. And finally, she returns to the office that she and her sister once shared.

Along the way she discovers so much more than the answers she’s looking for, including Christmas decorations stored away in her childhood home, a special book just waiting to be found in the library of old books that fill the walls of her father’s office, and a long-forgotten childhood memory. Each and every one were treasured gifts this holiday season.

But none more so than the surprising gift from her sister.
