From 21st-century New York to Regency England, stepping into the cupboard can bring more surprises than you bargained for!

When Melissa begins work on restoring the painting of an intriguing aristocratic lady, little does she know that her story, and that of her subject, are about to become entwined. Transported back to the time of Dukes and stately balls, grand houses, and gracious ladies, Melissa finds herself playing the part of her alter-ego Charlotte.

As she navigates her way through the social airs and graces of her new-found life, she soon discovers that being a woman in the time of the Regency is very different to the life she had lived in New York City. Her mannerisms, thought processes, and even her dreams change as she slowly becomes a lady of the Regency herself.

But as she journeys through her time in the past and encounters the rich cast of characters contained therein, Melissa soon discovers that it's easy to be happy - for love is the same whatever the time, or place.

This was a fun story about Melissa and her sudden arrival in Regency England. I enjoyed following her life as she spent time in the Regency time period living as Charlotte. I liked the interactions of Melissa/Charlotte with the other characters. Her words tripped her up when living in the Regency time period. Because of her slip-ups, she was able to meet and greet those higher on the social ladder. Cecil is Charlotte's crush in the Regency. Seeing how Melissa deals with coming back to her time period was amazing. The book had a satisfying end for me. The narrator made the book come to life. I recommend to those that like time-travel sweet romance.

My Time with the Duke is a cute time travel romance story that serves as a pleasant diversion. I enjoyed this story; however, it lacks depth, and many of the characters come across as more types then real people: the dashing Duke for instance. The reader is kept at a distance from everything, more as an observer than a participant. This is a clean romance.

The narrator has a nice enough voice, but her range seems somewhat limited. The story would be better served with a reader who could do both a New York and a British accent.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.
