"The poems offer the speaker in a vulnerable and straightforward way; he shows how romantic, family, and spiritual worlds change him as he is changed. The poems have an authority - a kind of wisdom - and I get the sense of who the writer is and what's at stake for him in the poems. The potency of the poems' handling of identity is especially interesting and important." (Sean Singer, editor)

I recommend someone listen to this audible with their eyes shut. Marquez teleports you through his mind how he saw his world and negates through it. But you may also find you may have something in common. He describes his love for basketball. In one of my favorite quotes, he mentions Things change when things remain the same. I can relate. I listen twice to fully understand and I find it brilliant.

what I love most about the book is it seemed to be longer than 54 minutes in audiobook form. The author covered a wide range of topics that spanned from his own history to modern-day, all relevant and useful for the essence of life and its purpose. the narrator's voice was easy to listen to and sort of mentally walk the reader through various time periods and experiences for this author as he shares the meaning of not only his life but the life essence of those around him. I love how the book ended. It left me hungry for more from this author's writing style. I highly recommend this book! I read it twice!

Nothing short of AMAZING!
