Mystical Shadows follows the enchanting journey of the young protagonist, Eldrian. On his pivotal 21st birthday, he stumbles across his father's hidden documents and kickstarts his mystical adventure that blurs the lines between reality and myth.

Plot Summary:

Waking up to his 21st birthday, Eldrian discovers the keys to his father’s peculiar cabinet. Inside, a miniature, ethereal woman offers him passage into an enchanted realm, vibrant with magic and fraught with peril – Fairy Land. His adventure unfurls in fairytale-like forests teeming with strange transformations, mysterious messengers, and fascinating mythical creatures, one of which a daunting Ash tree.Each step of the journey introduces Eldrian to a variety of fairies and woodland creatures oftentimes providing him with obscure insight. A transcendent encounter with a beautiful beech tree lady offers Eldrian solace and protection against the Ash tree, pushing him further into his quest. The story later transits to Eldrian’s service to a knight in tarnished armor, a time filled with intense battles against monstrous creatures and his courageous defeat of a formidable wolf.Mystical Shadows is also a philosophical voyage as Eldrian wrestles with weighty existential queries about life, love, and worth. It climaxes with his temporary death, a period offering immense peace and clarity, till he is restored back to the physical world. The revival bears Eldrian’s transformation as he reconciles his desires and wisdom, embodying selfless love and sacrifice as keys to contentment.The journey grants Eldrian enlightened wisdom about life, leaving him at peace with his place in the world. He finds reassurance in the divine encounters, the lessons learned, and the memory of the ancient lady, constantly reminding him of the promise of good fortune awaiting him. At the end of it all, Eldrian learns that true fulfillment lies within the realms of selfless actions, love, and the bond with one's higher self.

Too long and rambling

The language was often quite poetic and lyrical. It just rambled so! I stuck it out until the end but I was tired of it within the first hour.
