She wanted safety. She found a controlled community instead.

Your new neighbors are watching. For your own good.

I thought moving to Serenity Heights would fix everything. After my divorce, the manicured lawns, smiling neighbors, and promise of safety felt like a fresh start—exactly what I needed to rebuild a broken life.

But insomnia has a way of revealing what daylight hides.

While the rest of the neighborhood sleeps, I’m awake—watching residents move through the streets in eerie synchronization. Noticing how questions are quietly discouraged. How people who push too hard suddenly “relocate for family reasons.” How my well-meaning neighbors seem to know far too much about me.

Serenity Heights isn’t just a community.
It’s a system.

And perfection here comes with conditions.

Now I have to decide what matters more—my messy, imperfect freedom… or the blissful compliance my neighbors are so eager to offer.

Because in Serenity Heights, happiness isn’t just encouraged.

It’s mandatory.

I really loved this book and the 2 I read previously! It really made me think about my own life and how the choices I've made -- past and present -- helped shape who I am today. I'd definitely read it again...😊

If you like being able to stick with a story line.. this one is good. It’s not like crazy murder mystery or anything, but the thrill kept me involved. I have seven unmediated adhd and I was able to listen to this in 2 days. Give it a try!

GOOD FOR ADHD

This was such a dumb ending. The last hour was awful. Protagonist had all the info to take down the system but then throws it out the window. Never questions the 230am meetings that no one remembered despite the "8hr of sleep." I get that its about deciding to give up your trauma or not but the book builds as tho she will fight the system. Instead she just caves. Also Jenna had a recent divorce? The timeline was supposed to be about 12mo total and she had not even been dating anyone at the about 3mo point when they stopped communicating. come on. dumb. Truly lost opportunities to have this be a true thriller.
