Here we have a duchess with a "plan". A few plans. All the cast of characters with twists. Interesting and unlikely twists not used (or not always covered) in other variations. Low on the angst scale so this made this set enjoyable and a delightful read. Performance was difficult with a few of the characters (tone pitch) but for the most part you know which character is speaking. Good inflection.

Enjoyable set

I must confess I found books one and two in a search for more books narrated by Liz Christensen. She is the very best at interpreting the characters of Jane Austen’s classic books. Victoria Lynn has done a very credible work in this series. I hope there will be more. She demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the characters in the original books and her mastery of dialogue is truly amazing. I prefer dialogue rather than a story narration and she does it incredibly well. I hope to see more books by Ms. Lynn narrated by Liz Christensen. I highly recommend books one and two.

Awesome narration

I still sped the reading up to 1.5x to improve it, but I noticed the narrator’s tone became a bit more measured in this one, so that’s a plus.

As for the story itself, I think there are enough interesting ideas to warrant continuing through volume 2. Overall, a 3.5ish rounded to 4.

The narration improved in the 2nd volume
