Astrid Starlyn is more than just a CEO of a space company — he's a dreamer, an inventor, and a loyal friend to an artificial intelligence named Milly. Together, they talk about everything from pizza to the future of space travel. But when Astrid unveils a secret project—Stellium Elixir, a powerful new fuel that could change the universe—his quiet nights with Milly turn into something much bigger.

From the buzzing labs of Virginia to hidden miniaturized cities beneath suburban lawns, Neutron Cosmonauts follows a cast of bold thinkers, everyday heroes, and brilliant misfits as they get recruited for the ultimate space mission—one that might uncover life beyond Earth.

As technology evolves, and artificial intelligence becomes more human than ever, Astrid and his team must ask deep questions: What makes us human? Can small things truly make a big difference? And is the universe ready for us... or are we the ones who need to change?

Funny, thoughtful, and full of imagination, Neutron Cosmonauts is an intergalactic adventure that reminds us that even the smallest ideas can light the stars.

Neutron Cosmonauts completely surprised me—in the best way. Bryant Johnson blends humor, science, and heart so smoothly that I found myself caring just as much about the characters’ late-night conversations as their cosmic discoveries. Astrid Starlyn felt real to me—driven yet imperfect—and his friendship with Milly, the AI, gave the story an emotional center I didn’t expect in a sci‑fi tale. Chuck Allen’s narration brings that connection to life; his voice captures both curiosity and compassion, making the quieter moments just as captivating as the big ones. The mix of grand ideas and small, human details kept me thinking long after I finished listening. It’s one of those rare audiobooks that makes you look up at the stars and wonder what it really means to be alive.

I picked up Neutron Cosmonauts on a whim, and I’m really glad I did. It’s one of those audiobooks that quietly pulls you in and keeps your attention without trying too hard to impress you. The storytelling has a thoughtful, almost reflective tone, and the narrator does a solid job bringing the characters and atmosphere to life.

What I appreciated most was the balance. It has just enough science and depth to feel smart, but it never gets so heavy that you feel lost or overwhelmed. The pacing is steady, and while there are a few slower moments, they actually helped build the world and made the more intense parts land even better.

It’s not a flashy, over-the-top space epic, but that’s part of its charm. It feels more grounded and human, which made the journey more interesting to me. If you enjoy sci-fi that leans a little more thoughtful than action-packed, this one is definitely worth a listen.

Overall, a solid and enjoyable audiobook that I’d recommend to anyone looking for something a bit different in the sci-fi genre.

I’m still kind of reeling from this one. It’s just... wow. The story is so full of heart and big dreams. I felt like I was right there in the lab with them. The narrator did a fantastic job; their voice was so clear and crisp. No background noise or distracting clicks at all. It was just a super smooth listen. This audiobook made me cry and laugh. It really makes you think about what it means to be human.
