In this volume, written for adults, James Edward Snapp Jr. systematically explains the materials and methods that are used to produce and, for lack of a better term, authenticate the text of the books of the New Testament. He also confronts the flawed reasoning that has, in much of academia, weakened many Christians' confidence in the New Testament's accuracy. He also exposes prominent false teachers both within and without church walls who have spread falsehoods about specific passages in the New Testament. Finally he summons aspiring textual analysts to dedicate themselves to this sacred enterprise using the equitable eclectic approach which he has developed.
However, I won't, because does it matter if you have the flawless translation and totally miss the message of Jesus? Isn't it important to be different than the Pharisees? Doesn't Jesus command us to love? Enemies, strangers, neighbours and the other?
I was so offended that the author suggest burning the work of others.
Let us trust Jesus in each other.
Going forward spend a little time with 1 Cor 13 to make sure your evaluation of another's work doesn't undo your careful study.
I don't really like J.M's work either, so I don't buy or read his books, but I don't suggest we destroy his work because I disagree. Grow up!
Do your words "build up all who hear them" or are your disrespectful words noise?
