This book was simply adorable! I let my niece and nephew listen to it and they loved it. Nicholai is such a relatable character - curious, imaginative, and sometimes a bit mischevious - like any other 7 year old! We loved how the story explored all those class 2nd grade experiences, from making new friends to dealing with a classroom bully (who, thankfully, learned a valuable lesson in kindness)! The detective club storyline was a nice touch! It added a layer of excitement and mystery that kept the kids anxious to hear what was next! And the ending - perfect!

This is a nice and short story about Nickolai starting his 2nd grade.

The story is filled with different situations and lessons that kids can relate to. I like the beginning of the story when he tells his mom about his concerns of not finding his class. It is also a reminder for parents to be close to their kids and listen to them.
