Graham Hancock, an expert in ancient civilisations and author of the nine million selling Fingerprints of the Gods, and expert, too, on the use of hallucinogens to achieve higher states of consciousness, brings these two interests together in the final volume of the War God trilogy.

Critic reviews

"Part historical fact, part fantasy, the effect is as intense as the events themselves. It's a fascinating read that will have you booking a flight to Mexico long before you finish the book." ( Evening Standard)

There is a deeper truth here revealed in the history based narrative of this series. One which concerns the nature of perception and the exhausting wheel of ego driven history. It is no surprise that Graham conceived of this telling with insights gleemed from many Ayahuasca ceremonies.

Story within a parable.

Deep, action filled and educational series. I couldn't expect less from the great G. Hancock

Amazing and educational series.

While the performance was good it made absolutely no sense to have someone with a British accent narrating a story where all of the characters were Spanish or Indian. At times I felt like I was listening to a story that was set in medieval England, or a pirate story rather a story set in Mesoamerica. Don’t get me wrong. this isn’t a criticism of the narrator. It is simply a mismatch between his accent and that of the characters. I found it very hard to get past that discrepancy.

The story evolved nicely. While it’s fiction, it was interspersed with bits of history.

The War Gods series is so fun, so compelling so well written, I can’t wait for the 4th book to be available. I hope the same narrator will perform the book. It brings all of the history alive. I’ve been on the edge of my seat so many times. I had no idea that Graham Hancock could write like this!

This series is so much fun!
