"Colonoscopy? You turn 50 and all of a sudden they want to stick a TV camera up your rear end. Terrific." These are the humorous musings of a guy starting to get a little older and being realistic about it, trying to have fun in life while still setting good example for his three-year old daughter, and living up to his expectations of himself and while keeping a humorous outlook at life.

The hospital gown that won't close in the back? The nurse who didn't tell him everything he might need to know about laxatives? A dentist who uses his feet for leverage while doing a tooth extraction? Just another day! Follow along and laugh with us as we head down another road of family interaction and life lessons as we learn about the Night of the Coloscopy!

This is a book I never would have read If I was not already familiar with the author's work. But, because I love his "Savvy Stories," I thought I'd buy this audiobook to listen to for a long drive. I'm glad I did, I was laughing all the way to my appointment.
The narrator did an excellent job. His performance only added to the humorous story.
Highly recommend.

Unexpectedly funny!

Night of the Colonoscopy is a humorous short story of the author's observations of his overall medical history. Initially from the blurb I was thinking it would be more around the one event, and was sort wondering if of hoping it wouldn't be going into a lot of graphic detail to fill the time, of a sense of dread, and laxative related accidents. It doesn't, but gives an overall rundown of his rather minor medical history, much of which I could personally relate to.

His writing style is very likable, and relaxing to listen to and smile and laugh at, and in the end gave me some things to ponder.

Also included are some excerpts from one of his other works, on the birth of his daughter, which are just as good to listen to.

The narration is top notch, easy to listen to, and conveys the humor of the author fantastically.

Although a little on the short side, I now feel compelled to look at other books by the author, based on this introduction.

An Easy Enjoyable Read of a Slice of Life
