Boone may be a troubled young man, but his troubles are just beginning. Set up as the fall guy in a string of slasher murders, he decides he'll hide by crossing the threshold that separates us from them and sneaking into the forbidden subterranean realm of Midian. You can't really tell what's going on, since you can't see the actors. kind of a waste of a credit.

This is just the soundtrack of the movie.

Very misleading. It seems to be just long periods of music and sound effects with what could possibly be clips from a movie thrown in to create a "performance". Do not waste a credit or your money.

The first thing you need to understand about "Nightbreed," and all the "audio books" from Morgan Creek Productions for that matter, is that they are not actually real audio books. These are the tracks taken directly from the movies of the same name. In this case these are the tracks to the 1990 motion picture "Nightbreed" directed by Clive Barker.

The writing, the performances, the sound effects and the music are all magnificent, and they should be because they're from a major motion picture. However, if you haven't seen the movie you'll be completely lost as Morgan Creek hasn't put in any added narration or anything to provide context to the characters or sound effects. I've seen this film dozens of times so I'm able to follow it with no problem, and it is a great listen. It doesn't work that well as a full cast drama though, because in a true audio drama the characters would be describing what's happening to them, or you'd have a narrator.

Lacking that, I can imagine would be like listening to a movie while you're doing the dishes in another room. It's better than dead air but you won't know what the hell is going on.

This isn't a Real Audio Book
