I’ve always been a sucker for a guy with muscles and a handsome face. If that makes me sound shallow, maybe I am. I’ve never had a real relationship, unless you consider the guys in my Marine Corps Recon unit. I had a great relationship with those guys. Yeah, yeah, I know we’re splitting hairs. These days, long after my retirement from active duty, the only kind of relationships I really do now are with fictional characters.

I love to read, and lately, I’ve been frequenting the pages of my favorite blog, Bestreads, to escape my real-life job, one I’m not very well suited for. One reviewer on there—Nightcrawler—absolutely slays me. He always makes me laugh, steering me clear of some of the worst trash out there when I’m not trying to earn money as a bounty hunter. Maybe someday the right man will come along, and he won’t simply be a book boyfriend.

Someday.

Lately, I can’t get intrigued by any of the guys I’ve met in bars. Hookups are becoming less and less interesting for me. I’m a reader and of late, I’m also a half decent reviewer. I write exclusively for a blog called Bestreads, working under the name of Nightcrawler and I’m not ashamed to admit, I try to make them funny. In my line of work as a recovery agent for a big insurance company, I’m finding my off hours much more pleasurable.

I think about my next review and my next blog post all the time. Whenever I put up a funny two-star review, I dream of the guy who might be at home reading it, but pretty sure the kind of man who reads me, is probably living in his mother’s basement. Still, I’m a romantic at heart. Someday I might just run into him in one of my stories.

Someday.

Miguel and Raven are an unlikely duo—a bounty hunter and an insurance claims agent. But it works? Their paths keep crossing, leading to a whirlwind of action, danger, and adrenaline-fueled adventures. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and the spice is top-notch. I love reading Patricia Logan's book because I get a good action book with great romance. As always, Michael Dean did a great job bringing the story to life. I even laughed out loud a few times, especially at the book reviews. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

I always enjoy the action and intense plots that Patricia's men always find themselves in. This new series has started out no different, but I think what I really enjoyed the most was how touchy feely all these men were. They hugged a lot, expressing all their different emotions through physical touch. There is insta attraction but so much more going on to keep that going. Miguel is moody as all get out but genuinely cares for Raven. Raven loves egging Miguel on. Looking forward to more of this dynamic! And well, what more can I say Michael Dean's narration brought to life the grumpy and the love perfectly!

Action and Hugging!

First off I absolutely love listening to Michael Dean. I probably own every audio book he’s narrated which is how I found Patricia Logan.
This book DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Raven and Miguel fit our established motley crew perfectly. I love how well they complement each other.
Being a Los Angeles Native I can easily see the places we they go.
If you enjoy short term enemies to lovers this is your book. If you’ve never fell into the world created by Patricia you will undoubtedly end up going back to the beginning so that you can meet all of the characters we find.

Raven and Miguel,
Hoooogh!
Actually pretty awesome.
Definitely a bit of hilarity,
The real seams to have struck true.
It's a lot though.
I know I just spoke nonsense.
FIVE STARS.

Well then...quite good

I love romance stories but sometimes the background characters or background plot doesn't catch my attention but in this book the plot and characters where well written. I grew found of the grandma and the love she and her grandson had was wholesome and refreshing.

I also loved the voice acting but sometimes when I would pause the story and later listen again I would get confused which character is talking because both main characters sound similar but after I figured it out again the story made it easier to figure it out.

Overall I highly recommend this book.

loved the plot
