When Beth Robertson's rebellious teenage girl disappears, the single mother imagines the worst. Has her daughter run away with some man? Former private investigator Luke Sanders offers to help, introducing to Beth a gentle but firm relationship that was unfamiliar to her during her previous marriage to an abusive alcoholic. Beth reluctantly befriends this unchurched man who has a good lead to find Emily and who obviously likes her. Beth and her 12-year-old daughter Bonnie join Luke as he travels to Southern California, where the three search for clues and work together on a case that turns into an urgent race against time. When Luke's strikingly beautiful former girlfriend shows up to claim back Luke's attention, Beth's admiration of Luke falters. However, she is forced to endure Marlena's presence during the search. Relying on her faith in God to help her, Beth works through the complications until she can find Emily and get back to a normal life. As she tries to back away from any deeper relationship with Luke, Beth quickly realizes she is heading into yet another painful relationship from which there is no escape.

Engaging Christian mystery /drama /love story

The reader is very easy to understand and even does voices!
The recording has some pauses that don't seem necessary, but otherwise excellent.
The story is emotive and interesting. I never found myself bored of hearing all the details. I didn't guess the ending (and I usually can).
Uplifting and realistic Christian fiction located in a small mountain town setting with a trip to the LA area. The writer is knowledgeable of area details.

Held our attention the whole time.

I had already read this book. It was no surprise that it was a great book but it was like a whole new story hearing it out loud. What a great narration. Hope there are more soon.
