Awesome read, from a South African fan

I’ve been living in the States for over 20 years now, but vividly remember the first years of Shane bursting on to the cricket scene. Most definitely the greatest and most exciting cricketer of all time in my book. As a teenager, I hated the fact that he nailed the SA team time and time again, but was also mesmerized by this young guy with his larger than life personality and awesome leg spin skills.

Back to the book and why it is awesome:
Thank you Shane for writing this brutally honest book. Information is priceless for any cricket fan, and the insights into all the things that happened during his life and career is absolutely fantastic. The narration was also spot on and very easy to listen to. Great choice. So I would strongly recommend this read or listen to any cricket fan in general, but most definitely any fan of Warnie Or Australian cricket. I think the insights and detail in the book will capture the imagination and you won’t be able to stop listening. Enjoy!

Honest

Inspiring, in-depth, honest and capturing. Love the way he has opened up and been honest about his failings and successes and how his never say die attitude captures your imagination. His apologies are sincere and his friendships true. A New Fan was born by the end of the Book.

Great story

Most books about cricketers are more about facts and some basic controversies. Shane Warne tells a story that not many outside of Australia might be aware of. He also gives a good insight into his mind as a tactician and talks about problems he faced head on.
The commentary is good however some of the pronunciations of international cricketers is cringeworthy. While I understand that Indian names might be hard to pronounce but there were some glaring English cricketers names that were a little irritating. Mostly other than this the book is a nice listen and worth a listen.
