A man who can't feel fear is in a race against time to find a woman who knows a secret that could take down the United States

The man who can’t feel fear is back. . .
When a shocking murder and abduction on the streets of London leads investigators to open a safe in Langley for the first time in ten years, they find a note directing them to a few key individuals. Three of the people on the list are dead. The fourth is Ben Koenig.

Koenig has no idea why his name is on the list. Then he realizes that he knows the woman who carried out the killings. Ten years earlier, without being told why, he was tasked with helping her disappear. Far from being a deranged killer, she is the gatekeeper of a secret that could take down America, and for the safety of the country, she has been in hiding for years—until now. And if she has resurfaced, the danger may be closer and more terrifying than anyone can imagine.

Ben Koenig has to find her before it’s too late. But Ben suffers from a syndrome that means he can’t feel fear. He doesn’t always know when he should walk away . . . or when he’s leading others into danger. Fast, brutal, smart, and violent, Nobody’s Hero is an engrossing story of contract killers, international terrorism, hard choices, and the future of the country—and the world as we know it.

Critic reviews

“Exhilarating and darkly comic. . . Craven effectively mixes the unvarnished brutality and high body count of Lee Child with the black humor of Mick Herron. With style, wit, and plot twists to spare, Craven cements this series as a must-read.”
—Publishers Weekly

“An adrenaline-fuelled second outing for former special agent; Koenig makes Reacher look like a weak-kneed softie.”
—The Telegraph

“An absolute white-knuckle ride of a book. Fingernail-chewingly tense, lightning paced and as hard-edged as Koenig’s Fairburn-Sykes dagger. Just brilliant.”
—Neil Lancaster, bestselling author of The Devil You Know

“A new action hero for the ages; a true knockout.”
—Crime Monthly

“Ben Koenig is as tough and analytical a hero as Lee Child’s iconic Jack Reacher, but with an added dimension that makes him unique in the field. . . Bloody brilliant, and brilliantly bloody! . . . Craven’s effortlessly spare narrative, clever construction, and laconic wit make this thriller utterly impossible to put down.”
—Zoë Sharp, bestselling author of the Charlie Fox crime thrillers

Praise for M. W. Craven:
“Craven has unleashed Ben Koenig into the thriller world. Long may he raise hell in the pages. A superb thriller that will have everyone talking, and gasping.”
—David Baldacci, #1 New York Times bestselling author

“Tough, explosive, badass, and brilliant, Fearless is everything you could want in a thriller. Blistering pace and all-out action, impossible to put down, impossible to forget. If you like Reacher, you’ll LOVE this.”
—Chris Whitaker, New York Times bestselling author of We Begin at the End

“If you haven’t read any M. W. Craven yet, fix that immediately.”
—S. A. Cosby, New York Times bestselling author of Razorblade Tears

“ 'Thrill ride' gets tossed around a little too generously these days, but Craven has written one. A highly entertaining, brilliantly violent tale, full of unforgettable set pieces.”
—Peter Swanson, New York Times bestselling author of The Kind Worth Killing

Fearless is a terrific thriller, full of action, twists and turns, and a very unusual hero.”
—Peter Robinson, bestselling author of the Inspector Banks novels

“A knockout thriller! Fans of Reacher will love this.”
—Steve Cavanagh, bestselling author of Thirteen

I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read of this author. This book is a bit less out there in terms of crazy schemes of bad guys.

There is a pretty big reveal at the end.

Great mystery, well researched and well constructed. The historical recaps add to the narrative however the setup for the next book (in the last chapter) was a little off putting. But the rest of this intricate story, over came the setup. The narration was excellent.

Great mystery

His writing is sharp and witty which makes Ben Koneig a fantastic character. I listened to both books twice one after the other.

Love his humor and the short cliffhanger chapters

Great story, only made more enjoyable by perfect narration. Well-conceived, well-constructed, and well-delivered. Enjoyed it from start to finish.

Great fun (and informative!)

The climax of the book, when the “bad guy” is finally confronted, is monumentally stupid. It is only eclipsed by an even more ridiculous set-up for the next book in the series. Count me OUT.

A bad ending ruins the book
