All the endings are a variation of a themed

I have read 6 of the 7 books in this series. I enjoy reading them and like the story lines, but they all end with the same scenario. Ilse goes alone after the psycho and Tom comes in at the last minute to save her, but he’s always very clumsy and Ilse has to save him. You would think after 6 books she’d learn not to go in alone. I may read the last book in the series because I want to see how things go, but I wish the author would change the ending a little.
