Any additional comments?

This short story is brutal right out of the gate. You're thrown right into an officer of an unexplained and unapologetic death squad of patriotism. The cold unfeeling cruelty is difficult to listen to.

While this story is high on emotion, it's low on explanation to a fault. I think it was supposed to admonish some aspect of America, but I'm not sure what, how, or why. I'd have preferred either more explanation or less symbolism.

The narration fits the story nicely. The slow and somber telling matches the story's tone.

This is my 2nd short story by this author, narrator pair and they've proven to be quite good at evoking big emotions in little time.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Bold and brutal

Not to Speak is a thrilling short-story, expertly narrated that swept me away into a post-apocalyptic United States. The pace of the story and narration by Tom Jordan kept me enthralled for an “edge-of-my-seat” listening experience. It’s a story I’ll never forget!
