Within days of being told that he must vacate his upscale apartment, retired New York City attorney Byron Blake also learns that his Aunt Blanche has died and named Byron as the beneficiary of her home and modest estate in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Byron decides to move to Arkansas temporarily while he sorts out his late aunt's affairs. Byron soon discovers that his aunt has left some strange instructions regarding the disbursement of her money and expects him to give everything away to local folks temporarily down on their luck.
