Older Still Hanging in There (OSHit), by comic actor Joe Johanson, presents a perspective of aging by one who knows the dynamics well. The book gives listeners a look at times past through the eyes of one who has been there. Listeners will laugh out loud at the work, entertaining collection of humorous stories, each of which offers insightful accounts of our cultural history. Writing in an easy-to-understand conversational tone, Johanson sets our nation's progress against his own decline. He relates over 70 years of nostalgic memories in counterpoint to the accompanying technological developments that offer both convenience and bafflement to the aging.

Critic reviews

"Older Still Hanging in There is a great listen for all ages, but especially those who were raised in the mid- to late-20th century. It is a great gift for oneself and others." (Anne B. Jones, author of Tides of Fear, Gold Thunder, A Light on Peachtree, Blackwater Rising, and others.)

I met Joe Johanson recently and he asked me if listened to audible books. I said I did since 2000. He gave me his card and the tile of the book and told me it was a reflection of life as we knew it. I came home, and curiosity got me, I downloaded it and have to say it was a most enjoyable read. If you are of the elder status, you will truly enjoy listening to Joe (aka Dennis Johanson) as he walks you down memory lane. If you are younger, it is a great reflection of the lives your parents and grandparents have lived. Thanks Joe!

I enjoyed the chronological rollout of each topic! It allowed me to remember blocks of time from my past. The 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s etc. all had meaning to me!

As we age we forget specific reference points for life events and Dennis’s aka “Joe” provides a way to use memories to relive our past

Use history to build a better society for the future!

Great way to reflect on one’s life as a Baby Boomer
