Globally, nations search in vain to develop similar weapons systems and the threat of North America having unlimited power in the form of Gauntlet proves too much for some.

Dr. Paul Stewart is once again thrust reluctantly into the limelight as he and fellow scientists try to prevent chaos from reigning supreme as potential foes conceive, contrive, and put into action an outlandish plot to defy the allies.
