I knew of Fauci decades ago when I was just starting my medical career. He was amazing then and he has truly “given it all” over his lifetime. Everyone should read this book to know the depth of his knowledge, compassion, and dedication to to medicine and world health.

A man of worth

I will only give credence to the truth. As an RN who worked HIV Surveillance during the 1990’s I believe I have insight into what Dr. Fauci did for the world. Unless you watched young men, women & children die before your eyes from a virus that no one knew about until the early 1980’s and all we could do was hold their hands you have no right to express your hateful, unfounded opinions wasting paper and ink. To have the complete audacity to call for this man to be arrested for crimes against humanity…your complete ignorance has no bounds. Thank you Dr.Fauci for all you have done and the miracles we have yet to realize.

In bed with Covid-19 and Dr Fauci!

When the dark pink line showed up on my Covid test I was annoyed. But then when I recalled Dr Fauci’s book was just released…I was overjoyed that I would have an excuse to do nothing but listen!
This Audible book is extraordinary…first because we all know Dr Fauci’s voice and it has been reassuring and steady over these last few years. You can feel his very personal emotions through every chapter of his career.
This memoir is recanting living history for me…it put into context the complex scientific process of work and history while enlightening me to the behind the scene details with which I was vaguely familiar.
I appreciated his ability to explain the science in a way that was not boring. These parts I actually replayed a number of times…taking some notes so I could remember what he said. (Without the text in front of me there were some words I could not understand…so I googled them…and I love that he made me want to learn!)
The best parts of the book are his tales of his working with the presidents and their staffs.
How could anyone work so hard and accomplish so much in one lifetime?Understanding the source of his drive and commitment to serve people, increased my already enormous respect for him.

He is a hero who has been blessed with many talents and gifts. The greatest of which is his love for people, which has fueled his passion to save our lives. I take his story very personally. I thank him for sharing HIS personal story.

Great story of a dedicated public servant

Doctor Fauci details his view and role in the major health issues during his years of public service to the nation, the challenges and victories he and others encountered. This includes the AIDS/HIV, Ebola, Swine Flu, and Covid as well as the administrations responses to these health threats. You will get a greater appreciation of the role of science and the role public health officials play in keeping us all safe and healthy as well as the decisions that had to be made at different times of each possible pandemic and the role politics played in some of them. Great listen.

A life of dedication and integrity

I always enjoy listening to books from well known and controversial people. Dr. Fauci writes about his childhood, education, the beginning of his career that lead him to being involved in all of the prominent viruses that have spawned over the last 50+ years. Fauci has worked with 7 presidents as the top infectious disease expert.
His genuine desire to help people led him to have an incredible career.
He speaks at great length about becoming a political target which challenged his position on the utmost importance of being truthful.
Dr.Fauci read this audiobook himself which is something I enjoy especially in a memoir.
I am glad I listened to this book.
