My first day at work, and I see him. I swear I fell in love the first moment our eyes locked. Little did I know he would end up breaking my heart and leaving me with some extra heartache I could never get over.

I thought I had to do this life with my daughter alone. I thought I would have to watch the only man I ever loved be a player every day since we work in the same office.

I have never been so glad to be wrong about that. That is till we are kidnapped by a mob boss that my ex-boyfriend owes money to.

How will we survive this? How do we get back to Emily?

Love found us again just to rip things back out of our grasp.

I could not put this down!!

This story is outside of what I normally reach for since I normally don't enjoy the single parent trope, however in this case I felt like it was really well done. The story was easy to follow and drew me in right away. It starts out very cute, but quickly turns dark, so check your trigger warnings. The characters were all well written and relatable. It does end on a cliff hanger and I can not wait for book 2!

I originally read the ebook, but after listening to the audio book, I loved it even more. Andi Eloise and Fred Fox really made these characters come to life!

This story was all over the place. Too many tropes/plots. If you don’t care if the plot makes sense as long as there is drama and action, then this story is for you. But if you do care if something makes sense and need the story to flow smoothly, then this one will keep you asking questions and rolling your eyes. First off, the MFC was not likable in my opinion. Her juvenile, vindictive action caused all of the drama in this story and the author chose to make the man a simp and gloss over her actions… she thought the MMC cheated all because she saw a woman in his office close to him. Instead of talking to him about it she ran and refused his calls. Later she finds out she is pregnant and chose to hide it and asked another guy to pretend he was the father for 4 years. All the while she continued to work in the same office as the real dad daily and had no intentions on telling him until the fake daddy did something bad which gave her no choice but to tell him. Evil in my opinion. When she finally tell him in such a childish way, his answer to it was to have sex with her???? They are supposed to be lawyers l, really. The scene in the kitchen with the best friend and boyfriend/foursome while the daughter was sleep in the room was sickening

I love the plot but disliked the double cliff hanger because I'm inpatient. But would highly recommend reading better yet listening to the audio book 📖. the layout of the plot kept me glued to this book

Overall this was a good audio. The narrators created an excellent duet that left me in my feels some times then others had me melting.

The way the narrators seem to play off of each others emotions through the story.
