Such a personal and relaxing approach to understanding the Old Testament scriptures. I especially appreciated how the author made the book as a commentary. It’s not just about what happened but it includes why it matters, how it connects to our lives, and how we might hear God’s voice in the midst of it. The decision to write from God’s perspective was unusual and perhaps even bold, but it worked. It made the narrative feel more like a dialogue than a monologue, and reminded me that Scripture is ultimately about our relationship with our creator. I felt like I could be attending an author review, telling why he wrote the book and why it is so valuable, stressing that God wants us to feel personally connected to him.

Remembering that God wants a personal relationship with us.
