Mystery, Intrigue, Romance

Also plot twists and a couple of surprises. I have always loved Elizabeth Boyle stories but this was so extraordinary I loved every moment just when you think you know what will happen next you are proved wrong. It was hard to put down I only did so because I had tons of homework. So settle in and prepare for a treat.!

Interesting and different

I liked this. The story was a little different from most historical romances. I did grow to dislike the hero because of his hot/cold behavior and the amount of time he mistrusted the heroine. I also grew annoyed with the heroine because she was smart and brave and so rational, except when it came to the hero. Then , even when he treated her SO coldly and rudely, she couldn't think past wanting him physically. I get so tired of weak minded females in novels that act like this.
Still, it was a story that took a journey with some mysteries, some sad stories and some predictable events. I am interested enough too look up other books by this author and in this series.

Did Not Like

Too much cloak and dagger for me. They were always locking the heroine in a closet. The hero had sex with the heroine while believing she shot and killed his brother. I gave it a good run; I made it to chapter 16.
