A lovely young blonde found the confines of proper social behaviors in the ways allowed for upperclass women too restrictive so went traveling beyond Europe. However, the ship she was on leaving Greece was attacked by corsairs. She, her traveling companion cousin, and their crew, were held for ransom or for the two women to be sold into harems.

Second review....I LOVED it

I'm not sure why I didn't like this book the first, second or third time I listened. Mary Jo Putney has been a favorite author for many years, but I've not always appreciated Beverly A Crick. In this listen, I developed an appreciation for Ms Crick's linguistic talent. She switched from English to French and to cockney with amazing ease which made for a rich and enjoyable listening experience. I will certainly listen again and highly recommend to other listeners.
