Security Specialist Val had no idea what he was walking into when he was assigned the role of Cameron’s bodyguard. A driven workaholic who shut his own dreams away for the sake of his family’s needs, he is vulnerable when it comes to matters of the heart and rock solid when it comes to those he loves. His spirit and strength are amazing, and I love how he helps Cameron open her eyes to the possibilities while she does the same for him.
These two have an intense and palpable chemistry, and I loved their story from start to finish. Narrator Logan McAllister has done a wonderful job of bringing these two—and the rest of the Aspen Cove characters—to audio life. The emotion and intensity with which he delivers the story is gripping and sucked me right in. His voice is smooth and easy to listen to, and his delivery of each character and their emotions feels on point with the storyline.

I don't know if it was because of the narration or what exactly since I have not read the ebook. Cameron was supposed to be 32 yo and she sounded like a whiny college student in the audiobook. I thought the narrator made the character sound very childish and petulant. Even if she hadn't been allowed a level of independence for her age, I didn't expect her to behave like that.
She grew up around Hollywood. The fact that she didn't want to follow anything Valery asked her to do said a lot to me. Was her behavior supposed to reflect her "good girl" reputation? I wasn't sure, but it didn't come across that way to me.
I liked that Valery used his full name because his father had the same name. I did enjoy the part where he met with his mother and his siblings. I always enjoy the characters of Aspen Cove. I love how they look out for one another. I did like the way Valery softened up from being stern and grouchy.
I didn't get that sense of chemistry that I normally get between Valery and Cameron. It might have been because I didn't care much for Cameron's personality. II was still entertaining and I did listen to it in one sitting, or standing. It got me through my laundry, lol. I would give the audiobook 3.5 stars.
Wasn't Feeling the Narration
