The content wasn't bad, but especially the audio version is severely lacking a pdf with the diagrams, some of which are even referenced throughout the recording.

Teaches the basic rules of chess, but half of them are impossible to follow.

The second half is applying the principles from chess to real life, which might be handy.

Most chess books simply don't lend themselves to the audio format. Without an eidetic memory, there is very little benefit to hearing a string of algebraic chess moves. This book is different. The author and reader provide lots of good usable information that works in an audible format. There are discussions on strategy, tactics, and discussions on ways to work through problems, Yes, there are some algebraic discussions that would be much more helpful if the book had a PDF to download, but all in all it was worthwhile and enjoyable.

Excellent audio chess book!
