I first got the idea to write this book as I talked with my father during his last days. He often complained that time seemed to be speeding up, and the older he got, the faster it seemed to go. He expressed amazement that his entire life seemed like one second and now. He wasn’t complaining. He’d lived a magic life, but from his perspective, he arrived at the end of it almost instantaneously. The more I thought about it, the more this made sense and when I considered the nature of time, I started assembling a theory that fit with biblical principles without ignoring the facts of science. This book combines science and the bible to answer the basic question of how we move through time. If we believe that time is a tool of God’s creation, then it has a purpose, and if it has a purpose, then we have the advantage of accessing the ultimate authority on time, which is God himself. Scientific thought is not the enemy, but neither is the bible. As Einstein so aptly put it: “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.” If we can open our minds to both the facts of science and the dogma of religion, we can experience the concept of time in a whole new light.
