Nico and Becca

Emotional, heartwarming and addictive romance. Nico and Becca are adorable together, they have a huge bump in their road that had me tearing up. I did enjoy going on this journey with them.

FINALLY A STRONG WOMAN !!!! BUT...................

I rarely write reviews but this book was one of the very few contemporary romances that I have listened to where the female lead isn't some weak, whiny, insecure, financially and otherwise, pushover. Becca knew what she wanted, told it like it was and while she was hurt by Nicco's ridiculous actions, she stood her ground in terms of walking away while he figured things out, she took care of herself first. Also, I love that NIcco was sensitive and he was the chaser instead of the stereotypical woman whining and pining and hoping and chasing the guy. They both were smart, strong, financially comfortable and confident. I wouldn't change a single thing about the characters.
BUT, it's a big BUT to me and it drove me absolutely insane, it was the use of the word "just". It was excessive and superfluous. Every other line, the writer/narrator used the word for no reason whatsoever. "And I just look at her", "I just looked at him", "and he just touches me". OMG, it was so distracting and frustrating. I wasn't going to listen to another book in the series because towards the end of this one hearing that word every 10 seconds was making me mental. It was unbearable. I really love the idea of the strong bond between everyone and the capable intelligent female characters so I decided to give Layla and Miller a chance and what do I hear in the first few lines of narration "JUST", Please, no more , JUST STOP. Did anyone else find this as annoying and distracting as I did?????

5 star page turner AND non stop listen!!! LOVE!

A SENSATIONAL story that I cannot get enough of! There are not words to describe how much I LOVE Niko and Becca!!! We’ve seen them a lot in the first few books of the Only One series as Niko owns the Dallas Oilers hockey team and Becca is an agent and has a bunch of clients on his team. This was a highly anticipated story for me as I came to love the glimpses of each character in the other books and it filled all my hopes, desires and then more! I promise you’ll become completely smitten with Niko and Becca!!

We’ve seen Niko and Becca work with each other multiple times throughout the series and have their normal interactions, so what changed? Why now? “It was like a switch. I look at you and it was like, what the fuck just happened.” “Like everything was clear now.” I want to say so much more about Niko and Becca but I can’t without giving away spoilers! The storyline will completely shock you if you haven’t read the epilogue in Only One Night. Do NOT read that if you want to be surprised! I will say that my favorite thing in this book is Niko and Becca’s banter as it is perfection! Might be my favorite back and forth banter I’ve read in a story! It’ll have you smiling, swooning and even laughing. It made me completely crazy for these 2 characters as their personalities shine through in how they talk and it’s so addicting to read! A book that will have you completely immersed in the story and enamored with Becca and Niko! A 5 star page turner!

Cocky hockey team owner/GM Nico meets his match with sexy sports manager Becka. Lots of chemistry and a developing relationship but then Nico owes an old female friend a very invasive favor and he chickens out in explaining it to Becka. Drama, heart ❤️ ache and a HEA.
