St Jude's is a small church in an English village, deconsecrated, and waiting for someone to claim it now that the Christian community has declared it to be obsolete. Famous among the unhappy souls is a child murdered in the Middle Ages—the church has been there since the Normans invaded England. His death was blamed on local Jewry with terrible consequences. Now there is a storm and a washing away of many years of tradition to reveal what lies beneath: ancient stones and older customs. A small group of archaeologists are invited to explore the church and its history. They should remember that St Jude is the patron saint of hopeless causes.

Opened Ground is a ghost story flavoured by the history of this land. It is a story rooted in tragedy and ambition from a time when superstition governed behavior. It is a murder story from the past and a thriller for the present.

Great Haunting Story

I loved this story. It had everything I am interested in the paranormal, old churches and archaeology. I liked the characters. I think Sarah was an unique character. The author knows how to write stories that memorable and entertaining.

Excellent interwoven stories

Modern day archeologists are exploring the remains of a deconsecrated Norman era church. The church is renowned as the murder site of a child in the Middle Ages and legends about hauntings and ghosts. The archaeological group of uncover and get drawn into the evil that inhabits the church and must unravel the ancient mystery. The narration by the author is outstanding. She brings the characters and story to life.

This was interesting. I wanted to keep listening to find out how it was all going to end. It was like a story within a story. The narrator did a great job.

When the past revisits us

This is a compelling, haunting tale of death, violence and a haunted church. It starts with the violent death of a child and continues to spin a tale of violence and ghosts that still have a story to tell. I liked that the author provides information on English history that adds to the story. I could not stop listening and could not wait to see how the story unfolds.
