"Operation: Outer Space" is a science fiction novel by Murray Leinster. It was first published in 1954. The novel introduces the first interstellar flight, financed by making it into a television show! In fact, this very funny work is much more of a biting satire on the world of television, the media and the rich than a regular space opera but with some elements of sci-fi still there of course...©2017 Audioliterature (P)2017 Audioliterature Science Fiction Space Opera Interstellar Fiction First Contact Witty Hard Science Fiction

ZESTFULLY
The is most interesting for the outdated language. Murray is one of the pioneers of space travel stories, but this story is more about advertising. It is less entertaining than Pohl's THE SPACE MERCHANTS, which was printed two years before this. Unless you just love Science Fiction History, skip this and get Pohl's book.

This is definitely not “hard science fiction”. Yet it is a lot fun. A classic old space opera. I enjoyed it quite a lot, especially all the silliness.
