Max Tegmark leads us on an astonishing journey through past, present and future, and through the physics, astronomy and mathematics that are the foundation of his work, most particularly his hypothesis that our physical reality is a mathematical structure and his theory of the ultimate multiverse. In a dazzling combination of both popular and groundbreaking science, he not only helps us grasp his often mind-boggling theories, but he also shares with us some of the often surprising triumphs and disappointments that have shaped his life as a scientist. Fascinating from first to last—this is a book that has already prompted the attention and admiration of some of the most prominent scientists and mathematicians. What made the experience of listening to Our Mathematical Universe the most enjoyable?

Enjoyed the concepts presented and how it was layed out - giving readers a good foundation to understand each section. Presents some pretty mind-bending concepts but manages to keep things in check. The narrator did a great job presenting the book.

What did you like best about this story?

The writer presents justifications for each hypothesis while remaining 'realistic' about the concepts presented, and implications if found to be true or false.

Overall a good book with good narration.

Max Tegmark hits the mark with this book. After having read several Physics and Astronomy books, I thought I heard it all by now. Not so. Max Tegmark not only kept my attention with this book, thanks to the amazing narration by Rob Shapiro, but he stretched my mind and and changed my view of the Universe and the Big Inflation. Will be listening to this book over and over. Rob Shapiro is now my favorite narrator. I will include him in searches for upcoming books, irrespective of the topic.

Outstanding book with excellent narration

Intriguing ideas presented with a charisma comparable to Sagan or Feynman. A cutting edge take on the very base nature of our existence, that despite its radical sounding propositions, I found myself taking some of it's new ideas as just being the only possible conclusion. I regularly wonder how interesting my individual spacetime pattern is, and how I might spice it up. Overall super solid book, would absolutely recommend, I eagerly look forward to my next Tegmark work, which eagerly awaits me in my library.

Fascinating concepts expertly conveyed

Excellent accessible, challenging and engaging presentation about the nature of reality. Gets very preachy in the last chapter so just skip it.

Mind opening
