After narrowly escaping death, James and Angela find refuge in Krista's house. They think they're safe for the night. They're dead wrong, and they realize it too late when they hear scratching inside the closet.

Pierce and his remaining squad members have found someone who has a way out of the city. They just need to hold out a few days for rescue to come. The tension that mounts between the soldiers and the civilians will make that very difficult.

For some of the people trapped in the city, it's no longer just about survival. It's about doing things they aren't normally allowed to do—and they don't care who suffers because of it.

series is alright, I do like the day by day storyline but im not a fan of how short the books are and having to keep paying more money after 5 hours. I dont think I'll be continuing the series
