Andy Knight is working a dead-end job in a convenience store when he's transported to a fantasy world.

He is taken in by a master shinobi and soon discovers his magical abilities: He can communicate and harness the strengths of beasts. This power is forbidden in the world of Nobu-Teng, and to make matters worse, Andy is an outsider.

Using this power will make for him no end of enemies, but it might be the one thing that helps him become something he's always dreamt of: a shinobi.

First of all let me say that I am very impressed by the writing of this author and I’ve like several other of his stories. With that said though this was excellently written I really didn’t like the story mostly because of the main character being naïve child Mentality

This was OK but not something I liked.

Really enjoyed this book. The book creates a great example of how to write a Druid without making them into forest people.

The only issue I had was the size difference between the main character and everyone else. While I understand the difference, it makes it harder to enjoy.

Narrator is good but every so often he does slip. Still, a good narration.

Fun story

Thats all I got for this one. I want it to be better. the concept is amazing so I took a chance. this one really didn't live up to my excitement. It was nothing that stood out really. MC struggles a little bit which is good. But he just kind of learns his skill without to much effort. Like oh what is Ki, and the teacher tells him then BOOM he can do things greater than other people. The ending was probably the most interesting part so that is good. Anyway, I think I am good for now on the series.

Not gonna lie, I could listen to Brian Nishii read a phone book. He has a fantastic voice with the perfect hint of an accent for the story. He does voices well without doing weird falsetto for female voices.

I enjoyed the main character and his sweet gentle soul that's been dropped into a new world of shinobi and samurai; caste systems and rural machinery. Can't wait to hear Novice and whatever comes next. My only real complaint was that I wanted another solid few hours of story here. I did feel like it ended a bit prematurely but it's a series so I suppose that's necessary.

Will absolutely keep going with this series, I wish I could visit Nobu-Teng! Or.... Live there forever. Ha!

Great story, epic narrator
